The Playdex NFT Rental Marketplace enables users to lease and rent NFTs for "Play 2 Earn" games, creating opportunities for generating passive income.

Problem

As Playdex is a startup from the Philippines, the main hypothesis or problem is that citizens cannot afford to buy expensive digital assets.

  1. Create a scalable solution to attract more game partnerships.

Research and pain points

After comparing competitors, communicating with users on the Discord server, interviewing the Product Owner and CEO, and reviewing reports on the support channel, I have discovered that:

  1. The current interface does not provide users with information about their account, such as wallet and balance.

  2. Numerous front-end bugs and usability issues have caused users to contact support.

Product Ideas

The main product features and ideas were:

  1. Implement multi-currency support to reach a wider range of users and avoid forcing them to swap to other cryptocurrencies.

  2. Display the rental period for available NFTs and the rental end date for rented NFTs.

  3. Display the rental price per day on the NFT page. Once the user enters the number of rental days, show the total rental price for that period.

  4. Implement the "Activity" page to display all rental activities. This will help new users who are unfamiliar with our product to build trust in our services.

  5. Collect feedback after successful rental transactions to identify critical areas for improvement.

User Interface

Since we already had a styles and components library in Figma and Storybook, designing the UI was quick.

Main Page

The main page displays all listed and rented NFTs, filters, sorting options, the total number of assets, and pagination below. Additionally, due to the nature of the games, we may need to display different notifications to our users as in the example below.
